Frequently Asked Questions

What to Expect?

We offer a worship service in the Sanctuary on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome! Our worship service will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube and available for viewing anytime after the service.  In worship we celebrate the good news of God’s grace in Jesus Christ that brings hope to our lives and defines who we are. We follow a United Methodist liturgical tradition but also make room for the surprises of the Spirit.

Children are always welcome in worship. Children in preschool to 5th grade are invited to stay in worship or participate in Sunday school immediately after Children’s Time.

Where Do I Park?

There are two parking lots and church entrances – one is on the Northeast side of the building and is accessed from Pine Avenue and Rush street. The other entrance is on the South side of the building and is accessed from Woodworth Place. Handicap parking spaces are available in this lot..

Where do I go when I get there?

People meet and greet one another before and after the service in the Narthex which is accessed from both parking lots. Greeters and ushers will assist you at either door. Be sure to stop by the Welcome Center in the Narthex where you can pick up church information and receive a welcome gift..

How do I become a member of Roselle UMC?

If you are considering membership at Roselle United Methodist Church, we invite you to talk to our Pastor. By the guidance of the pastor, you’ll learn more about our  church, get to know our pastor and staff and discover the expectations of our members.

Where do my children go during worship?

We welcome all children in worship! Children’s activity bags are provided to keep the children engaged during services in the Sanctuary. The bags include stickers, crayons, Bible games, and stories. They can be picked up at the Welcome Center or you can ask for one from an usher. For infants through age three, we have nursery services available. Nursery services are available September through May from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Children in Preschool to 5th grade are invited to stay in worship.

Will I be singled out as a guest?

You are not asked to stand or speak during the services, but our hope is that you experience the welcome and hospitality of our congregation.

May I participate in communion?

In our Wesleyan tradition we practice an open table which means that communion is offered to all. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at service. Due to Covid-19 we use pre-filled cups. .

Is the church handicap accessible?

Roselle UMC is wheelchair accessible with an elevator which gives access to the basement. We have a fully accessible washroom on the main floor, just inside the south entrance across the parlor. Handicap parking spaces are available in west parking lot.
