Love in a Time of Climate Change: Honoring Creation, Establishing Justice
Now till October 1, 2023
Led by Susan Dal Porto in the Library
Using John Wesley’s Quadrilateral: Scripture, Tradition, Reason, Experience – we will explore how to develop a loving response to climate change, which disproportionately harms the poor, threatens future generations, and damages God’s creation. Our quest is to discover a unique way to reflect on planetary warming theologically and to discern a faithful response. We believe that love of God and neighbor in this time of climate change requires us to honor creation and establish justice for our human family, for future generations, and for all creation.

The God You May Not Know by David Jeremiah.
“Take the journey from knowing about God to knowing God.
Knowing about someone is not the same as knowing the person himself. As Christians, we can suffer the same delusion in our relationship with God, thinking that knowing about God is a substitute for knowing Him personally. Yes, we do need to know about God, but that should just be the beginning of our relationship with Him. We can only worship whom we love, and we can only love whom we know in an intimate way. In The God You May Not Know, Dr. Jeremiah will lead you beyond knowing about God to knowing God.”
